Show Notes

Swingin' up to Dallas/Fort Worth for studio time with Mark 'Hawkeye' Lewis, morning show host at New Country 96.3 KSCS! With over 30 years of morning radio experience (all at New Country 96.3 no less!) this guy knows audiences, marketing, branding and what it takes to make a successful career in radio. We talk about radio consultants (Mark is probably the only person who has worked with three legendary morning show coaches: Steve Reynolds, Randy Lane and Tracy Johnson); what it was like to be inducted into the Country Radio Hall of Fame this year; his travel podcast 'Travel With Hawkeye' and his new YouTube video "5 ways To Promote Your Morning Show That Cost You Nothing". He's also written a few books including "The Travis Club" and "The San Antonio Guidebook". I know, does he like, ever, ever sleep?! We also discuss his community work with the upcoming BMW Dallas Marathon Festival; his dog sledding experiences; and why he really loves making weedkillers and occasionally fixing vacuum cleaners. (It will all make sense after you hear the podcast!) Bring along your Texas swagger and listen in!

About the Spotlight Conversations podcast:

Tune in as I invite friends inside my cozy linoleum free recording studio to talk about all things media - radio, television, music, film, voiceovers, audiobooks, publishing - if guests know media, we're talkin'! Unscripted and nearly always entertaining, each guest gets real about their careers in the entertainment biz; from where they started to how it's going. Join us in my swanky studio where drinks are always on ice; music + media are the conversation starters. New episodes every other Tuesday.
